Introduction
Twitter Behavior Targeting is very similar to Facebook’s Partner Category targeting, as it makes use of third-party data to build audiences you can then target as normal. For example, you may want to direct your ads towards users who hold multiple credit cards, users with mortgages, and so on.
Twitter Behavior Targeting allows you to leverage user data from third-party providers such as Acxiom, Datalogix, and more.
How To Use Twitter Behavior Targeting
You can enable this feature when creating ads through the Marin Social Bulk Creator. Simply follow the steps as usual, then look for the Targeting section of the workflow.
With Included Behavior Targeting, you'll also be able to select the Expand reach by targeting similar users option. Checking this option will allow Twitter to expand the reach of your ads in a similar way to Facebook does with lookalikes and targeting expansion. Please note, however, that this is not available with Excluded Behaviors.
Important Notes
- Twitter Behavior Targeting is currently only available when your ads are targeted either within the United States or the United Kingdom. If any other country is selected as the target location for the ads, then the option to use this feature won't be available.
- If you try to edit the targeted country for an ad that has previously used Behavior Targeting to anything other than the US or UK , you'll need to remove this Behavior Targeting option, otherwise, the sync will fail.
