There may be occasions when you want your campaigns to target only mobile apps. Google’s AdMob network forms part of the Display Network and is comprised solely of mobile applications that allow ads to be run within them. You can choose to target only the AdMob network by following the steps outlined below.
How To Target Mobile Apps
To specifically target mobile apps, follow these steps:
- When setting up a campaign within the Google Ads interface, look for the Campaign Type section.
- Choose Display Network Only from the drop-down menu.
- Using the radio buttons on the right, select Mobile apps (rather than All features).
- Use the options found in Mobile devices and tablets and Locations sections to alter your preferences on which devices to target and where.
- In the Change display targeting section you can refine your targeting (to different categories of apps, for example).
Platform Support For AdMob-Targeted Campaigns
At present, the platform will not display Click, Cost & Impression for campaigns that are targeted solely at mobile apps.
However, you can manage these campaigns using the platform – including updating creatives and editing bids and budgets.
Additional Information
- Provided ads targeted only at AdMob click through to external destinations, you can track revenue for these ads in the platform by using the {placement} parameter in your URLs.
