Media Mix Audit FAQ

How does the audit work?

Once you link your ad platform accounts. Marin will download historical performance data. We use this in our proprietary AI models to predict performance at different spend levels for each campaign. Our optimization algorithm aims to maximize the number of conversions while keeping your spend unchanged from the last two weeks. The audit will show you the estimated increase in conversions and how the proposed allocation compares to your current media mix.

What ad platforms are covered? 

This audit is focused on performance media platforms, including Google, Microsoft Ads, Meta, Amazon Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Apple Search Ads, Snap, and Pinterest. 

Can I maximize revenue instead of conversions?

Yes, it’s easy to change your goal during setup.

What if I have different goals for different campaigns?

No problem. Marin groups campaigns into Strategies to set targets. You can have multiple strategies, each with its own goal, and Marin will optimize within those Strategies.

What if I’m looking to increase or decrease my total spend?

Yes, it’s easy to change your spend target during setup.

What conversion data is used?

Marin will automatically import the total conversion and conversion value (revenue or sales) data from the ad platforms. If you use a third-party revenue source (e.g., Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc.) that is not uploaded to the ad platforms, we can help you integrate that data into Marin. You will need to talk to one of our support team members to get this setup.

Will Marin make any changes to my account?

No, Marin will be running in preview mode. You can see the recommended Campaign Targets and Budgets, but they will not be sent to the ad platforms, unless you choose to activate the strategy.

When will I receive the audit?

We aim to send the audit within 3-5 business days of linking your ad platforms.

How is this different from traditional Media Mix Modeling?

Traditional Media Mix Modeling is a top-down econometric approach that looks for correlations between marketing activities and overall spend. Marin’s approach leverages our detailed understanding of auction dynamics at the campaign level to find the spend allocation that will drive the best results for your programs.

Most importantly, you can get an answer in days, not months or quarters. Our recommendations can be directly activated through Marin.
